Borders in Photoshop

I need help making a thin black border around an image. I use the marquee tool and do go to select then border and use 1 as the amount of pixels then ctrl + delete and its too big thick and it won’t let me use .5 as an option.

You can’t have half a pixel.

One pixel is too thick? What’s the resolution of the graphic?

That’s not the resolution, that’s the absolute size. Besides…125…what? I’ll assume you mean pixels?

How many pixels per inch (or centimeter)?

make a new layer. while on the marquee tool, hit Ctrl+A (select all) then right click and hit stroke. select 1 px and make sure you check "inside" and make sure you pick the right color.

What I would do is set the background color to Black, press CTRL+A to SELECT all. The CONTRACT your SELECTION by 1 pixel.

Know that 1 pixel is the smallest increment of size ON YOUR SCREEN. Each pixel contains 3 filaments. Red, Green and Blue, shown each at different brightnesses, whic when put together, give you a seperate dot of light. So 0.5 pixels isn’t an option.
