Is your image in grayscale? Go to Image->Mode…what does it say?

Nothing in a grayscale image can be in colcr.

Sounds like you might have clicked on mask mode, left hand toolbar, bottom right button, if that’s what you have done!, click on the bottom left button.

When I try to click on edit in standard mode it doesn’t do anything. It makes a beeping noise that you get when you click on something that has been disabled.

I think it does this because its already in standard mode. If I unslect the type tool I can go back and fo0rth between mask mode and stqndard mode. but If I click in the type tool, it turns pink and I can’t undo it.

There are four text modes
2 are for standard text – horizontal and vertical
But the other two are Text mask modes! – You seem to have clicked on one of those.
You need the text symbol with a solid black ‘T’

Even when I click on the correct text mode, everything is pink. Even when I close the program, then open that file and click on it, it still turns pink whenever I’m in text mode. Even if I save the file as a jpg with another name, open it and save it a a photoshop file, it turn pink when I’m go to text. But it doesn’t happen with other files. This is very frustrating . Im in the middle of trying to do something and not I’m stuck for two days.

Uninstall Photoshop, go back to Paint, it’s more your speed.

Look very, very closely at the tool you have chosen. Is it a solid letter T, or does it have a little dotted outline around the T?

If it has a little dotted outline around the T, then you are in Text Mask mode, and what you are seeing is normal. Click your mouse button on the tool in the toolbar and then hold the button down. The other text buttons will pop out. Choose the one that is a solid letter T.

In the tool menu on the left, I choose the type tool, and it gives me 4 choices. I choose the first one, the "horizontal type tool" with the T that is not dotted. When I click on the image to use the type tool, it turns pink.
