I can’t use my Kodak RFS 3600 scanner because of the Photoshop message: Could not complete the import command because of a problem with the acquisition module interface. I had to replace a burned out scanner with another of the same model but I now get the above message. I have reinstaled the scanner software, deleted temp files, removed the Kodak RFS 3600 registery entry and still can’t get it to work. Kodak says the problem is with Photoshop. Any suggestions? Thanks James Crockr

It means that the Kodak software has a bug, or their usage of the TWAIN interface has a bug.

Please ask Kodak to fix the driver software.

Is this a windows machine? If so, in the control panel, check Cameras and Scanners. – if it’s not detected there, then, even Windows can’t see the scanner.

If on a Mac, running 10.x, check out Image Capture, which does the same sort of thing.

Thanks Chris. I know you are right. This is a fairly expensive professional scanner that Kodak manufactured during 2002 in Taiwan and then abruptly discontinued. Their software was inadequate for professional use from the beginning and caused universally bad reviews of the scanner. Kodak offers no repair service for these scanners and no schematic. Since the software was working and quit when I had to re install it, they concluded it wasn’t their software. End of their support. So I am trying to find a work around to get the machine going again. Perhaps someone has had the same problem and can help.
Thanks again

Go on UseNet, comp.periphs.scanners.

Some real wizards there.
