Yip… this morning at 4am, my 19" monitor (6 months old) decided to take leave. Without notice. And I had to make the decision; CRT or LCD:-)

At least quite a few warnings was published here, concerning calibration problems on the LCD. And I am using CS2. And had to weigh the negative postings, positive postings, and my sometimes month long trips with 2 PC’s with heavy monitors on my back seat.

Armed with a grayscale image (Gregor’s idea) on a flash drive, I went shopping.

This 19" ACER AL 1914 sm Monitor is a few hours on my desk now. And still uncontrollable color wise.
I nearly bought two but decided to keep the Philips CRT on the other machine, because that is (also) only six months old. So far, that seem to be the better decision, because the colors on this LCD, is wild!

Seeing that Adobe Gamma has no effect on it at all, there is only Contras & Brightness buttons for calibration. Hope it will not be necessary for the CRT to find it’s way back to my desktop:-)
