I have a layer which is an eps file, lots of colors and shapes. I want to create a circle step the circle in increments. But what i need to know is how do i fill the circles with the eps file from layer one. My thinking was layer 1 shapes and colors layer 2 a white box and on top layer 3 with the circles filled with layer one. The final product will be the circles filled with layer one and outside the circles would be white. Hope this makes some sort of sense. thanks in advance for any help

You need to make a mask.

Draw a circle on layer 1, over the objects. Then click on the circle and the objects beneath it and choose Object->Masks->Make Mask.
