What do you do when Photoshop 7.0 all of a sudden suffers from an "unrecoverable error"?!

I have had the program for almost a year now, and all of a sudden I tried to open it and a notice saying: "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, this error is unrecoverable" popped up. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, using system restore and changing the properties…It worked one day and didn’t the next, nothing had been changed or downloaded that could have corrupted the system…Does anyone know what I can do to fix this, I really need a solution because Photoshop is vital to a lot of the things I work on.
