Is there a way to word wrap in CS2? I’m putting an oath of office on parchment and have hand line breaks.

Every time I adjust the form size, I have to change the hard line breaks.

thanks,

Dennis

Make a text box of the size you want (Drag on Canvas with Text tool)and put the text in it.

I can’t swear this works but on a FrontPage NG I saw the suggestion to paste the copy into Notepad (has no formatting), save it becomes plain text, then copy paste to PS. Let me know if this works.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

You are using the wrong tool for the job. You should not be doing this in Photoshop; it’s no wonder you’re frustrated. The right tool is a page layout program like InDesign.

However, yes, you can word wrap in Photoshop. Click on the Text tool in the toolbar. Move the cursor over the image, click, and hold the mouse button down. With the mouse button held down, drag out a box; this will create a text box, and the type will wrap when it hits the edge of the box.

It won’t, unless you create hard line wraps in Notepad. A single line of text in a text or word processing program becomes a single line of text in Photoshop if oyu have not made a Photoshop text box.

The text box worked like a champ. I cut and pasted from Word and the word wrap was automatic. No need to go to Notepad.

Thanks to all.

Now, I need to open my InDesign for the first time and do some more learning.

This newsgroup is one valuable resource.

Thanks again,

Dennis

I thought he meant he was getting line breaks in the text box didn’t realize he didn’t use a text box at all!

If you use formatted text from WORD it sometimes "remembers" the paragraph breaks where you don’t want them
