AFAICT the CS2 FILES | AUTOMATE | CONTACT SHEET 2 option will always create a "contact sheet" from all of the files in a chosen folder [subfolder inclusion is optional however]. Is there any way to do this and select just the files I want in the current contact sheet? [Yes, I know I can create a subfolder, move the files I want, create the sheet, and then move them back, but that seems to be contrary to the "automation" spirit of the operation.]

TIA
Norm

Use the Browser (or Bridge under CS2).

I’ve never done contact sheets but in the CS browser you flag files & change the view to hide unflagged.
