Hey all.

My girlfriend is visiting her father who works in graphic design. She told me he mentioned something called Davinci, which she is convinced is an image-editing program like Photoshop. The only Davinci I’ve heard about in the realm of comp-graph-art is a machine, not a program. Did she get mixed up? If not, where can I find more info on this.

Thanks.

Try a search on Google. A quick search of "davinci graphics" doesn’t turn up much though …

You might look at http://www.herdsoft.com/catalog/davinci.html and see if this is what she’s referring to.

The only Davinci I know of is the old Linotype-Hell retouch software solution, for SGI under IRIX 6.2. It was only a bundled package at one time but this announcement from 1996 say’s it was to be offered as a stand alone.

I remember seeing a "DaVinci" or it could have been "Leonardo" editing suite software demo’d at London MacExpo back in early 90’s. At the time PS was version 2 or 3 and not really yet the industry standard. I think Stuart(?) is correct and it was a hardware specific and at the time
v.expensive.
