Hello,

I have a circular logo that I am trying to make into a transparent gif using Photoshop Elements.

The magic wand will not work because the logo is gray on a white background. I have tried to paint the background black followed by the magic eraser, but I am having trouble getting a good circle.

Is there a way to outline a circle or paint around it with some accuracy? Or another way to create a transparent gif and retain the circle?

Thanks a lot,

Bob

I don’t have Elements but in PS you can control the tolerance of this tool quite easily to separate gray from white
do you have Select>color range?
perfect circles an be made wit the shape tool, use the oval marquee or shape and hold the shift key or select the size in the options

Thanks for the tips.

I was able to change the tolerance of the magic wand but the circle was still a bit irregular.

You mention the circle tool but I could not figure out how to make the circle surround the logo and not have a center white background. Is there a way to make that circle not have a background so the wand will go up to a crisp edge?

Thanks Again,

Bob
