Hi Group,
I have no problem producing photos for websites, using the 72dpi and save for the web feature.

Now I have been asked to produce a DVD of photo’s to be viewed on a TV through a normal DVD player.
Can anyone advise me at what resolution and image size will give me the best viewable photo’s in this format, what resolution does a TV work at and will the new High definition sets just coming on to the market work at the same or will they be a higher res,, also what image size would be best for viewing.

Thanks in advance to all those that take the time to reply.

depends of the TV (I mean HD TV or 16/9 TV or American standards or european and so on)
but here in France it’s about 852×480 for a common plasma 16/9 42 inches… or1366x768 for a LCD TV 16/9 32 inches and many others… for a "CRT" TV depends if it’s an old one that respects only the television broadcasting standards like in
NTSC=720×480 or 720×576 for PAL standards, whereas some TV display other types of resolutions.
and at the end most of the TVs work with rectangular pixels as most of the monitors (computer) work with square ones.

but this kind of stuffs are not part of my skills (english neither 🙂 ) and I may make mistakes, someone will correct my words
