ctrl-click layer in CS2 doesn’t select layer?

In CS, you can ctrl-click a layer and select the layers’ colors (something that has been painted on the layer)
but in CS2, I sadly find that I can not do this…does anyone know how I can "ctrl-click" the layer in CS2?

Click on the icon itself, not next to it.
