Hello, I am trying to integrate a Google Logo on my website. The problem is that the area where the search bar is located has a blue background color. Is there any way to get a transparent background Google Logo somewhere?

I tried creating a transparent background with different programs but they all looked nasty.

instead of doing it in Photoshop you could download transparent gif-google-logos here http://www.google.no/intl/no/logos.html h

I think you will still have to set the Matte color to match the background.

This is actually pretty simple. When saving your image, you must save it as either a GIF or a PNG (IE does not support PNG), because these are the only two Web compatible image formats that support transparency. To correctly handle transparency, you need to make sure that the intermediate colors created when antialiasing blend into your background color. When using Photoshop’s "Save For Web" feature, you can achieve this by setting the Matte color to match the background color of your page. This gives the text (or image) seamless edges to blend with the background. An example : a background color of #E1E1E1, which is a light gray. I would select matte, and then enter #E1E1E1 in the pop up box. Antialiasing and transparency are two tools that depend upon each other to get good results.

Under the "Help" menu there is an "Export transparent image" topic. This leads you through the steps to do what is required.

If you are interested, you can read more on transparency (and antialiasing) at the following website : AntiAliasing and Transparency http://www.lunaloca.com/tutorials/antialiasing/

Hope this helps.

I have done my own Google Logo in Photoshop for exactly that purpose. You may download it from http://coolhaus.de/misc/logoo.psd .

All you need to do to adapt it to your needs is change the background color layer, crop and resize it according to your needs, and save it as jpg or gif.

There is a catch, though: You need the Book Antiqua and Windsor fonts on your system to make it look perfect. If you don’t have those, you may use Times New Roman instead, but it won’t look so perfectly like the original.

Granny I followed your advice, but not much luck. I’m not really good at working in Photoshop I guess.

Greg! Thank you so much. It took me a while to find the Windsor, but I got it working and it looks GREAT. Thanks again!
