Try as I might, I just cannot seem to get my head round feathering adjoining images to give a soft blend – does anyone have a link to a good easy to follow tutorial?

Thanks,

Bill

Part of the problem is that you are using the wrong word. "Feathering" is what you do to a selection. The correct word for what you want is "vignetting."

Vignetting is very easy, if you understand how to use layer masks. Make a selection in your image. Feather the selection with the Select->Feather Selection command. Save the selection as a layer mask.

Thanks guys!

That’s great! I was obviously expecting a result I wouldn’t have achieved the way I was going about it.

To be honest masking is a blank area for me but I will be puting my head into my books straight away to swat up on it.

Many thanks once again!
