I have the Samsung 213T, which is 21" 1600 x 1200. The usual text is too small for me, so I run at 1280 x 960. Photoshop doesn’t seem to suffer from being run at less than the native resolution. 32 bit color, too. It’s much better than the old 19"Sony Trinitron monitor next to it; brighter, darker, sharper. I’m not one of those that says a CRT is better, not at all.

I also want to do web design, so I guess if text will be small maybe I should look for an lcd with a smaller resolution. I want an lcd monitor(19 to 20 inches) with with a high contrast ratio, good brightness and can produce true color(16.7 million colors) I can find a lot that produce 16.2 million colors though. Do you know of an lcd monitor that will meet my needs? I am seriously getting into web design and photo retouching(career wise) I was hoping to get an lcd monitor, but I may need to get a crt, so I can lower the resolution and still have quality. This is one I was looking at.(21" SyncMaster CRT Monitor model# 1100MB ). Thank again for your help. Bob

How will photoshop look on a 20 inch monitor at
1600 x1200? Thanks
I am looking to get a Samsung SyncMaster Monitor (204B)
Hi.
It will look fine.
However the only likely problem is that some of the text in the dialogue and palettes may be rather small, and might be difficult to read, depending on how good your eyesight is or isn’t.
