I created a design using the pen tool and it’s the way I want it. It’s now in a vector format. I want to turn it into a bitmap object (the object itself, not the whole layer) so I can move it around and resize it.

I’ve tried the layer/rasterize options, but all of them seem to make the entire page one object, and the design isn’t selectable.

Any help?

Paths pallette, 3 icon at the bottom load path as selection, move as you like

Bear in mind that all vector objects, no matter how large or small, once rasterized are going to be the exact size of the canvas – there’s no getting around that. Once you started using your Pen tool, it started a new vector layer that has nothing to do with the rest of your design – I’m assuming text and other graphics. It’s on its own layer that can be moved around and reordered as you see fit. If you’d like to put that object into one of your other layers (i.e. a layer that has all your graphics on it) you can select the two and merge the layers.

Hope that helps.

That’s where I’m up to, one text layer and one layer with that graphic. This is nothing major, just making a graphic for a button where I wanted to create a unique shape for one letter. I can now get the vector object sized right, but haven’t been able to color it the way I want. I wish I can remember what I did, but suddenly the frame and corner points were there. Thanks!
