Hi

I don’t know if photoshop is the best tool for doing what I want to do but it’s a tool I have access to.

I want to create 1" squares with text written in them over a coloured background. Then I want to print 50 of these onto a single sheet of paper.

Is this possible? Is there a webpage that’d tell me how to do it?

Thanks in advance for any help

Is it possible? Anything is possible.

What kind of colors are you looking to put in there? Like, a checkerboard? Like, just one color? How much text? Centered in the box or lining the bottom?

The point of this post is this – help is out there, but you have to ask the right questions.

My email is if you want to go over the details of
your project – I’ll help you in any way I can.

Yeh photoshop is ideal for this if the text is different in each then create one 1" square first using the Rectangle marquee tool. You can now either have the rest on the same layer by holding down the alt key and draging the square over a little and realesing (keep repeating) or you can just dulicate the layer 50 times if you want them on new layers then add your text layers.

If the text is all the same in each square merge the square and tewxt layer, reselect the square and duplicate as above.

The lack of clarity in my original post is down to my not knowing too much about graphics or photoshop, sorry.

Just a single colour background and either one or two lines of text centred in a different colour.

Then print that item 50 times on the same sheet of paper.

You can do it in Photoshop, but it’s cumbersome and unnecessarily difficult. This is a task that a drawing program like Illustrator or a page layout program like InDesign or QuarkXPress is much better at.
