New to PH (have CS 2 V9), extracts, quality of, vary. Seems that objects with deep blues end up with very, very ragged edges. Using green #3 (mm?) tool and green fill.

Looking for a paper, a help tutorial on this, the extract function. (CS’s built-in Help is not helping me!)

Where, please, do I find a good training exercise? On-line?

ThankYou!

That’s the nature of the tool, you really need to use it in conjunction with the clone tool. Duplicate the layer before you start extracting use a bigger brush say 8 or 10 after extraction go to the other layer, the full image and zoom to about 800%, find a pixel you can clearly identify in both images like an eye highlight, register the clone tool on that pixel ensuring that Aligned is selected in the options bar now gow back to the extracted image and gently stroke in the missing or rough areas.
