Hi,

I have an old picture, quite small in poor quality,
looks like out of focus as well.
How can I make it better?

Wasn’t there one plugin for fixing old and out of focus
images?

TIA
M

Using photoshop elements 2
Would like some help please. I am trying to correct a blemish on a portrait photo where there appears to be a white highlight on the persons forehead. I have tried correcting exposure, brightness etc. but nothing seems to work. I think somehow I have to change the skin tone in the affected area but how. Any help would be appreciated.

You will need to use the Clone tool. First make a duplicate of your photo, then Zoom way in and reduce the transparency/opacity if needed.
You will get excellent instructions here from the experts, but in the meantime, just try the Clone tool, it is great "Eliminator of Power Lines" and more.
There are many other ways of doing this, but the Clone tool is easy if there are not many complications.

Roy….

Just my suggestion…..before you start cloning anything make a new layer and leave that selected. With the clone tool active ensure that the ‘Use all layers’ check box is checked. This way when you start cloning the new info goes on your new layer only. You can turn this on and off to see the before and after or just discard the layer if your not happy, without affecting your original starting point.

Try also different brush hardness settings and opacity to help blend in the new stuff with the old.

We need to remove all evidence of the bridge from this image. please see link Please suggest the most convincing way to go about this in Photoshop CS2. Everything we have tried looks unrealistic in press quality.

Re-shoot at a time where the shadow is not as intrusive, or shoot scene at several different time of day and collage them to get rid of shadow evidence, and then replace the sky with one taken without the bridge at the same time as the main composite image. Sorry but that is my best advice.

If you don’t have the option of reshooting the image, you could replace the sky completely with another sky, then use the dodge tool to get rid of the shadows on the face of the building. Of course, reshooting it is much faster and easier if you’re right there.
