In PhotoShop 5.5, is there a way to globally replace one color with another in a jpg file?

I have a map that depicts roads with a shade of red. I want the color to be a dark green. I could use the Bucket tool but it would take a long time. I’h hoping there is an easier way.

Thanks,

Dave P.

There are many easier ways. One is to use the Select->Color Range command to select the red, then use the Fill command or the Hue and Saturation command to change it. Another is to use the Replace Color command.

Try this quick trick: convert to Lab mode and flip the ends of the a curve, so that the curve slants downward from left to right. This will turn red objects green and vice-versa.
