I have a digital photo where the individual I was taking the photo his eyes are completely red. I tried using the "Red Eye Remover" tool within Photoshop CS2 (9.0.1), it didn’t really fix.

Does anyone have other suggestions on how I can repair this red eye?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have another photo of him (preferably taken with the same camera in the same photo session)? You could try copying the eyes from that photo and placing them on the redeye photo. I’ve done this for photos when people had shut their eyes just as the photo was taken and it worked out fine, but you will need another photo taken of them with similar lighting and qualities to get the eyes from to achieve good results. Make your selection on the skin around the outside of the eyes with several pixels of anti alias. You might also try selecting only the eyes and then adjusting only the red level within your selection. Reducing the red level sometimes solves this if their eyes can’t be fixed any other way. Don’t expect perfect results if the eyes are as red as you say, but it is possible to get close. Photoshop is not a substitute for proper photography.

You can also use the Sponge tool set to Desaturate to remove any color, in this case Red, from his eyes.

I have some where it just aint going to happen.

Others I have found that by changing the scale in PS the eye has been ‘found’ and repaired.

hey. try selecting the eyes and then using "PhotoFilter". Your subject’s finer iris details should remain intact, despite being red, so this should fix the problem.
Tell me if this was helpful, please.
