assignment means you decide what you want and PAY a designer for it.

If you want go to some websites and see what you get for FREE with Free logo makers interfaces.

do you do your work for no money? Is your website for a charity or other cause we want to support by doing work for no $$. Or you are just another commercial business person who thinks artists do not deserve to be paid for their work while you make $$ on the image they provide. Or you just don’t care about your company having a professional image?

How judgemental if you don’t even know me.
Ever heared of Linux?
Ever heared of a whole world being out there besides the 2 cubic meters you are living in?

Ray, we do seem to get more than the occasional request for free services on here, but maybe Katwoman is being a little judgemental? so now’s your chance to set her straight!!!

Do you work for nothing?
Is your site for charity or other worthy cause?
Or maybe artists really don’t deserve much for their work?

Harry,

This is Ray/Planet/RM Jacobs (name change)

I make about 3 complete websites a year for people who wish to have one, I get zippp, because it’s my hobby and I’m able to learn from it. I’m getting good at it and I make other people happy, because they can’t work it out themselves.

Besides – everyone tends to overlook the word ‘prefferably’ in my first posting and fucus merely on the taboo-word ‘free’ – to bad…

I do all my work for personal education in my own spare time. If someone can lead me in to the world of past-wanna-be-design I’d like to learn it from them – iven if it costs money and if I think its worth my household money.

But anyway Harry – thanks for being objective 🙂

Didnt know there were that many questions as I dropped yesterday…

Regards,
Ray

Wonder why I miss this ‘more than the occasional request for free services on here’ Harry, but then of course occasionally, I do miss posts here. because even though I am daily on Internet, there are days that I do not peep in here. Maybe those requests are mostly then. (I do nor read everything though:-)
But I still question it.

At least Raymond did answer Katwoman and yourself, so I hope the 2 of you are don’t intend being quite now.

Be careful, it’s called voivodism and snootiness can be contagious.

Dave

ns.
Ray, I guess the impatience with you is because of your
stupid habit of top posting.

Actually Dave, I sent Ray a private email (Not sure that he would receive it given the address!!!)
He has indeed answered us, frankly and quite reasonably, I have no problem with his post at all and if he would send me an email – my address is correct!! – I will reply to him personally.

Thanks Harry, this was not meant as harsh as it sound, but thinking of how much I learned (and still learning of course:-0) in this same valuable group, I would love this group to keep on making people feel welcome here. And you are one of the advisers that earned lots of respect here.

I’ll be back later this evening:-)

There is a world beyond linux… which extends far beyond ‘2 cubic meters’. A prime example of egocentric thinking whereby a person assumes that their world is larger than that of another simply because they themselves are living in it.

Designers earn a living via design labor, just as doctors earn money by healing people, and very few hand out medical services for free.
