Hi,

I have a cd with some fonts that I want to use in photoshop. They were originally downloaded from the web and have been used on cd, they are photoshop compaitable and I have seen them used in photoshop. How do I install them locally so that photoshop can use them?

thanks in anticipation,
atoz

Open Windows help and read up on how to install fonts. Fonts are installed for the system, not a specific program.

BTW, be careful with those freebie or el cheapo fonts. PS is pretty picky and will crash with poorly designed fonts.

open the control panel. open the fonts applet then select File> Install (or is it load) fonts. that’s about it. restart any apps you want to use the fonts in.

thanks Bob,

I hear what your saying about being wary of freebies on the net.

I’ve tried copying the fonts into the windows fonts folder but windows won’t recognise the fonts.

I think this may be related to the cd being copied on a mac and tme transfering them to windows. However, a jpeg has been saved also and photoshop is willing to open it up.

Older font formats are platform specific, and you cannot install Mac fonts on a PC (unless you know a few code hacks).
