Hi there.
I’ve just installed Ps Cs on a new system.
Windows Xp Pro, 256DDR, P4 2.4GHz.
Problem:
I can view the images, but it just shows me the file name without the type. For example:
It shows: flower (thumbnail)

Instead of : flower.jpg (thumbnail)

What do i need to do in order to "fix" the view? Thanks.

This is a shot in the dark, but do you have "Hide extensions for known file types" enabled in your system folder options? This might be the reason you don’t see the extensions. This is a bad thing to have edabled, in any case, as it will hide extensions on file attachments and you won’t see the additional extensions on viruses.

To disable this "feature", do the following:

1) Open My Computer or Explorer
2) double click on drive C
3) on the menu bar, click on Tools -> Folder Options
4) click on the View tab
5) scroll down to "Hide extensions for known file types" and make sure there is NO checkmark in the box.
6) if you made a change, click Apply, then OK.

Hopefully that will cure the problem!

edit: D’OH! Dave beat me as I took too long to type! 😉
