i have a webpage i have created and about half way down the page i have a list of items – i have created rollover states on the items that show an image to the right when clicked.

it all works fine to a point BUT the problem i have is, as it is part was down the page when u click the button it shows the image but takes you to the top of the page – so you have to scroll down again to see what was selected

i know if i just use an over rollover state to show the image it will work but i only want it to show when clicked.
i have tried using a DOWN rollover state and that works while i have the button down then when i release the button off it goes to the top of the page

Thanks in advanced

Sounds to me like a problem I was having with Actions in AdobeGo Live. I use the # and then create the action and the link it is to work on. Fine if there is only one of these actions on the page. I wanted a page with many of them and learned through the manual(not sure what you are using to create your site page) that the way around it was to generate a javascript library and mark the html of the page in the inspector as import java script. Upload bed both and had no more problems with the # taking the user back to teh top of the page.
I may have missed your point. Anyway, if you are having more than one of these javascript actions on a page, you need to generate a javascript library folder and upload it to the same site with tthe page you order to import the javascript from a library. From your source in the example thee is more than one time you want this to happen.
If I misunderstood you, my apologies.

Chris,

It looks like you might want to find a beginning JavaScript tutorial, such as webmonkey or voodoo if it’s still available. That way you will be able to look at you code and see what is missing, such as naming the images and what to use in the href quotes. The software works well, but until one learns how the code works, well, it’s just pushing buttons and hoping for the best.
