When I create an animation in Imageready and try to save as a gif it creates an image folder for the gif with all the parts of the gif but the .gif file does not show up anywhere. Can anyone please help me figure out a solution other than using another program besides Imageready.

Missi,

with all the parts of the gif but the .gif file does not show up anywhere.

You’ll need to explain a bit clearer what your problem is. An animated gif is just one file, so I don’t know what you mean by ‘all the parts of’.

If you have chosen save HTML and images, then the .gif will be in an /images folder below where the html file is located

When I try to Save Optimized As images only the file does not show up anywhere. It creates an images folder with all the slices in it but the .gif file is nowhere to be found. Hope this clarifies my question a little better.

the slices are your images.

Missi,

You sound VERY confused about slices and animations.

If you want to make an animated GIF you need a .PSD file with a layer for each frame of the animation. You then use the animation palette to create frames and select which layer(s) are visible in each frame from the layers palette. Animations are NOT sliced.
