I have a logo that I am wanting to add to a website, but it has a white back ground. I want the white background gone, and I would like the background to be clear so that it will not affect the look of the page.

I am using Photoshop 7.0 with Win XP.

Thanks for any help!

Melissa,

You need to select Save for Web>GIF and then drag the white colour swatch in the colour palette to the transparency icon at the bottom of the palette.

Alternatively you can change the layer name to anything other than ‘Background’, select the area you wish to be transparent and delete it and then Save for Web>GIF

Man do I feel stupid… Where is the transparency icon at the bottom? I can usually figure these things out so it is hard for me to ask this again!! 🙂 Sorry,
