Is there a way to organize my plug-ins?

I have a lot of plug-ins in Photoshop and was wondering if I could create "groups" so that when I click on "Filters" the list isn’t so long. For example, if I wanted to make a group that said "Excellent", one that said, "Fair", and one that said "Rarely used", and those groups showed up below the line with the plug-ins in those groups as a fly-out….

Can this be done? I was thinking about Plug-in Commander, but don’t you have to restart Photoshop for plug-ins to be available that way?

thanx,

Somps

No, there is no easy way to do that.

And even Plugin Commander can’t change all of the filters, or even all of the plugins.

I am using Filters Unlimited www.icnet.de (english version available). It’s quite good in organizing, but restricted to FilterFactory filters only. Anyway, for me it helped.

Anyone think Adobe might take care of this issue?

I’d like to see us be able to manipulate the menu tree a bit by sorting our plugs into folders or via some kind of user editable ini (or prefs) file.

not sure if you know somps, click on chris’ name and read the personal info (or look at photoshop’s splash screen).

there’s a feature request section here for asking adobe to include things we think might be helpful in future versions. it’s at the top of this forum list…

That’s a nice idea. The only app I’ve seen anything like that possible is CorelDRAW where you can actually sort the order of the import filters.

The technology exists at Adobe, as far as I know there is such palette in After Effect… should I post it again in the features request?

And it also makes sense in the standardization of the UI 😀

Thanx Dave, I will post also. I’m surprised they haven’t done that yet on their own. BTW, how is HAL? 🙂 (Arthur C. Clark)
