I’m using 3rd party image library product( Thumbsplus) and Photoshop CS. If I edit XMP information in Photoshop the data seems to correctly show up in the file’s IPTC information in Thumbsplus. However, if I make a change to the IPTC information in Thumbsplus that change does not show up in Photoshop. I’m sure this has something to do with the way Photoshop is keeping and managing this data.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there a way for IPTC data changes made in a 3rd party application to show up in Photoshop?

Possibly when you reboot it may change/update?

Mark,

I don’t think rebooting is the fix. I suspect that CS does not read the IPTC information that may exist in a file. However, when you set XMP information in CS it writes it to the file in such a way that it appears as IPTC information for any 3rd party application that is reading IPTC. I would like to get confirmation of this. And more important determine if there is any way to get CS to read IPTC information set by a 3rd party application
