Is there a difference between the educational version and the normal? I am about to buy a new computer. So how can I put photoshop on it?

1. Functionally, they are the same. Legally, you must be a student or teacher to purchase the ED version.

2. You don’t know how to install software on a computer? Seriously? OK, turn to page 1 in the Adobe Photoshop CS User Guide, to the chapter entitled Learning Photoshop CS. Look about a third of the way down the page and there you will find your answer.

3. Be sure to join the Registered Users Forum.

No…of course I know how to install the program…What I’m asking is How do you install it on another computer if you have already registered it and everything?

If you have it on one computer, you are allowed to install on a second (so long as the same person uses each machine). If you upgrade your computer, you should take it off the first machine before you dispose of it (selling or whatever) so there are not two users on one registration number.

Just to clarify. Photoshop CS requires activation. You get two with no questions asked. If you’ve only activated it on one machine, you’ll have no problem doing it on the new one.

But as already pointed out, you should delete if from the old machine before selling it or giving it away.

So with all the ed versions it is the same as the if you bought it straight from Adobe? can you use it on more than two systems? does the ed version only allow two registrations or can you just not register it on the other systems?

yes.

can you use it on more than two systems?

you can’t use any version on more than 2 systems, per the license agreement.

does the ed version only allow two registrations or can you just not register it on the other systems?

you may activate it (registration is totally different and is a one shot deal) up to 2 times (we’ve been told) without any problems. after that you need to call adobe and explain why you’re loading it on multiple systems, or that you’ve retired one machine and are installing it on a new machine. the 2 activations are time based, something like 6 months. so that after that time (whatever it is) goes by, the activations kind of "roll back" giving you 2 more automatic (non-phone call requiring) activations.

LOL. The idea that reading anything written by lawyers would make something clear.
