Have trouble optimizing

I’ve been using IR 7.0 for a while now, and if I make animated gifs, I always go to File, Save Optimized as.

However, when I tried to do it today, it wouldn’t let me pick .gif. It only had .jpg, so I could only save one frame at a time. What’s wrong? How do I change that back?

I’ve reformatted my computer recently, so I’ve had to reinstall Adobe Photoshop, but I reinstalled it the same as I’ve always done (have reformatted a few times), and it’s never whacked out on me before.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Where is it only allowing you to save as JPEG? Under "Save Optimized As" or under "Window>Optimize"? That is where you need to set it to GIF. Because if you open a jpeg and just hit "Save Optimized As" It will default to what the photo was originally in the optimize palette (which was jpeg).

thank you very much for posting that comment

I’ve been having the same "problem"

It seems sort of odd to me that you would have to first alter a setting on the optimization palette before you can save to a certain file format….shouldn’t they have that stuff on the drop down save as menu as well,

but anyway thanks =)
