Running PS 7,01 without problems for a long time in 98se. Suddenly after upgrading to XP I get the following error message at start-up:
"extendscript.dll missing the program will not be able to load" actually reality is a little better – because PS7.01 does continue to load when I click OK.

Have tried installing "extendscript.dll" but then PS7.01 just gives me another missing file name at start up – and another – and…(you get it)

Have tried uninstall/reinstall of PS7.01 several times – would really be happy to get rid of this quirk.

Thanks for any advice.

Did you make a clean install of XP? or just an upgrade "on top of" W98?

Also, delete the preference file per the FAQ. That’s not done through an uninstall.

Suddenly after upgrading to XP

How? Upgrade ontop of 98 or a clean install?

It was an upgrade from 98 to XP – and I chose to upgrade rather than clean install XP exactly to avoid reinstalling Photoshop!

I have now deleted everything and spent the last 5 hours reinstalling PS-plug-ins & everything. Aaaarghhhhh.

But the warning is gone now :-\

Next I am going to spend the rest of the evening/night changing all the settings inside Photoshop (double Aaaarghhhhh).

Thanks for your suggestions.

You’re operating with a ticking time bomb. With the time you’ve wasted already you could have a nice clean install.
