I am creating a series of ads to be printed in various newpapers. The layout is done is Photoshop CS and sent to prepress as PDF’s. The first series of ads, I flattened the psd file before creating a pdf to save size, the text printed out fuzzy. Now I am unsure how to prepare the text before sending out the second batch of pdf’s. Should I-
1. Rasterize the text and save as a pdf with layers
2. Save pdf with layers but embedd the fonts
3. Save pdf with layers but use outlines for text
One suggestion I read was to merge all layers not containing text, then rasterize each text layer but dont merge them and save as PDF. But when a layer is rasterized text, whats the difference if it is or isn’t merged with other layers?
I dont normally prepare ads with type using PS but in this case it had to be done, any help would be greatly apppreciated.
