I just upgraded my computer and reinstalled all my software. I did everything as usual and set my color settings to Adobe 98 etc. But now everything in PS looks too light and washed out compared to every other program I can view images. If I make all my adjustments in PS and then load into Neat Image or Nikon View, everthing looks dark in the other programs. Also, my dye sub printer and outside prints are coming back dark. What could have happened reloading PS to make it appear so light?

Thanks

Mike

Have you run Adobe Gamma and created a good monitor profile? That’s the first thing you must do.

Also, images WILL look different within a colour managed environment to how they appear in non-colour managed applications. To see how images will appear in other non CMS apps, set your Proof setup to Monitor RGB and view Proof.

As to printing, take out 15 minutes to have a read through the CM tutorials on http://www.computer-darkroom.com

Thanks Len. I dissabled Adobe Gamma because I use Colorvision. I have had some dialogue with them also and we might try tracking something down there. I thought that there might be something somewhere along the line that I setup wrong. I have been a PS user since verion 2.5 and this is the first time I’ve had this problem.
