I am trying to use a photoshop image in a Quark document. When I view the image in Photoshop I can see through it to the gray and white checkerboard, but when I,m in Quark and I ‘get picture’ it imports with a white background versus a transparent background.

I have the image in just one layer.

Thanks much for any assistance.

Matt

Switch to InDesign. Quark doesn’t support transparency.

If that’s not an option, you’ll have to use a clipping path or match the background in Quark in your Photoshop graphic.

Sorry for interfering on your thread, but i am trying to do exactly the same thing.

How do you do the clipping path?

Sarah,

Create your image on a transparent b/g then select Help>Export Transparent Image > For Print.

That will create the clipping path from the transparency automatically.

Hi pls help 2,

Am using photoshop 6.0.
Hav created a layer of ‘tv lines’ using the tv lines action the tv lines/stripes consist of 2 colors. white and a shade of red. then i changed the opacity of that layer to make it look translucent such that i can see the checked boxes(the white and grey boxes) behind.
Then i tried to export it to dreamweaver (by saving as gif)but the stripes that r supposed to looks translucent doesn’t.
then i tried to save it as png format, looks fine in photoshop but failed again in DW.

Pls help. Thanks in advance.
