Hi I just got photoshop cs and have been using the radial blur filter to make wallpapers and stuff. However, when I use it I noticed that it makes my desktops grainy in some spots.

Example: <http://www.geckodigital.com/graeme/…%20somthing.jpg>

I set my filter to zoom and quality best. Whats rong with my filter?

Don’t why the filter does that, but a quick fix is to run it again with a small amount (like 2) and quality set to "draft". That usually gets rid of any grain fairly well…

Or filter on a duplicate layer and then change the blending modes (Lighten or darken seem to work the best)

The filter is like that all the time. A reinstall won’t help, unfortunately.
