Install PS 6 BEFORE Illustrator 9 or AFTER?

I’m recovering from a C drive failure and must install PS 6 and Ill 9 on the new drive. I seem to recall from three years ago when I first installed these apps that there was some issue about installing one or the other first.

Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

PS 6 then it’s updates… then Illy 9, then it’s updates. (earliest program first).
