Hi,

Today I found on the net an ad (short movie) by Dove, in which some photo manipulation program is used (e.g. to make the model’s neck longer and her eyes bigger).
To me, it doesn’t look like photoshop, but it’s hard to tell at this resolution.

The commercial I’m talking about can be found here:
http://www.dove-moments.nl/acties/evolution/

Does anyone know which photomanipulation program is used in this Dove commercial? And which tool is it they use?
If the program is not photoshop, is there a similar tool in Photoshop with which you can select a region and then shift it, while stretching the surroundings to keep the image realistic like they do with her eyes and neck etc. ?

Thanks very much in advance for your replies,
-FriendlyGhost

Here’s another one, a magazine cover:

It looks to me like they select, feather, then transform the selection to skew it. For instance, select the left eye (the one on the right side as we are looking at the image). Feather the selection, then transform by grabbing the top right corner and dragging it up to the right. This makes the eye bigger and moves it up and to the right. Because the edges are feathered and the edges of the selection are evenly colored "flawless skin" the transformed eye selection blends with the rest of the face.

To transform the neck width requires some clever selecting so that the edges of the neck line up with the rest of the image. To lengthen the neck one would cut and nudge the face higher, then select the entire neck and transform it taller until it reaches the face.

If the program is not photoshop, is there a similar tool in Photoshop with which you can select a region and then shift it, while stretching the surroundings to keep the image realistic like they do with her eyes and neck etc. ?

I d/loaded the movie and freeze framed it, its not Photoshop thats being used.
Unfortunately the top of the screen that probably would have identified the software is not visible.
The only way to id it is if you recognize which package the tool palette is from..

Dear Dr. Hack in the Bush,

I would say it IS Photoshop that is used, but for legal reasons the makers might have changed (=photoshopped) the palette.

goes by too fast but I have done this successfully using FILTER >liquefy on selected areas
(with lot of feathering on selections)
do it on a dupe layer in case you mess up or want to get some areas back http://bellsouthpwp.net/j/h/jhhinkle/AliceBWbeauty.gif
neck narrower
eyes bigger
smile pulled up
cheeks swelled up
boobs bigger
waist narrower
(plus makeup enhanced or added by burning)

I vote for liquify as well. There are many settings to play with to make it work just the way you want.
