NEW why do Filter Gallery and some filters sometimes not work?

I can seem to get them to work, does anyone know why?

Also if anyone has seen any tutes on how to animate a ripple effect on water that would be a good tip too.

Are your images in 8 bit or 16 bit? Some filters only work in 8 bit mode, not 16 bit.

Regarding the ripple effect, have you tried the Adobe Studio <http://studio.adobe.com/>? A one time, free registration is required for access.
