Hi Group,
I’m wondering where my user created actions are stored. I’ve had some PC problems lately and had to create my actions all over again. So, I want to back them up. I can find the default actions but can’t find "my actions" which I named them.
Appreciate any help you can offer.

Someplace hidden. You have to save them to an .ATN file yourself. Select the group of actions you want to save in the actions palette and then click on the flyout menu and choose save. You can save them anyplace you want. Until you do this think of them as saved in Photoshop only with no way to back them up until you save them.

in the presets folder>>>>>a folder called Photoshop actions good idea to back up the entire preferences folder
I also keep a folder of all my second party add-ons for PS in case I ever need to re-install them

If you are on Windows comp
right click the shortcut
select properties from drop down
find target
that puts you in the main directory for PS
click folder named presets

the hidden folder refer to above
c drive or where you install PS
documents and settings
your user folder
application data
adobe
PS8 folder
inside are files named for the palettes but end in PSP!!! (I am pretty sure it is not a paint shop pro files though, strange they use the same file endings
I think this is where the personal settings are stored but do not know how to use the files in there

Unless you save them yourself they are stored in a Preferences file, Actions Palette.psp. You should Save them from the flyout arrow and a good place to save them to is the Photoshop Actions folder in the Presets folder, and make a backup copy somewhere else.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Saving from the flyout menu is just what I wanted.

You know how hilarious it would be if we could see who
are the ones that troll the UseNET? Sasha Barron Cohen
could make a feature film out of it! LOL

I’d bet that dude is a sniveling 15 year old twerp with coke bottle glasses that gets picked on every day. OR a 48 year old miserable burger flipper that women won’t get 10 feet from. LOLOL I’d bet on it!
