Lost Layering Menu

I have PhotoShop 6 and have ‘lost’ the box (menu?) at the right-hand side which accesses different layers. How can I get it back?

The Layers Palette?

Thank you very much. First one didn’t work – hit tab and the two I had went, hit it again and the same two came back – but now I know it is called Layers Palette. Second didn’t work – no ‘layers’ in ‘view’. But third did the job a treat, I now have all three again – all I have to do now is remember what to do if it happens again! Do you know what made it disappear in the first place? Barbara
