After thinning out the Startup file (via Start>Run>msconfig>Startup) by unchecking some of the unnecesary startup items, I have found that the Photoshop CS browser takes longer to display images on its first access. I suspect I may have unchecked a file in the Startup that is the cause. (At present The Adobe Gamma Loader is checked, but I unchecked VersionCue Tray since I do not use it.) Is there a file in the startup list that may affect the delay in the first use of the browser? Could there be another cause for this delay?

Norman,

To my knowledge, there are no PSCS references in the Startup group except Adobe Gamma. See if rechecking Version Cue makes a difference. If it does, then that is your answer. It’s probably something else …
