Out of the blue I received that message today – it continues "…because of hardware or software error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable"

I have un- & reinstalled (PS7), defragged, scandisked, ran Norton SystemWorks, nothing works. Did try renaming all the Adobe fonts to no avail. Looking for the names of the fonts Windows installs, but that Adobe database is not available so far.

I did get a very strange email yesterday, but was scanned and showed no virus. Has anyone else had this problem?

WinME.

Thanks,
SG

First, I would do a search for that error message in Adobe Support <http://www.adobe.com/support/products/photoshop.html>. If nothing there, I would try resetting preferences per procedure in the faq.
