Is there any way I can save each individual layer as a .gif using batch process or otherwise? For example, I am trying to create a series of buttons based on the same background. I have a layer for the background and individual layers for all of the different labels ie text layers. It is very time consuming to export by showing one layer, exporting and repeating the process.

it wouldnt be a batch command because it is only working with one image. The problem you run into is that all the layers have different labels, so I don’t believe that you can make an action to speed up things at all. sorry.

I had my doubts myself. Thanks anyway, Josh.

I wonder if it would be possible to write some VB to do it? Or is there a way of working round in version 7.0?

Yes, you can. Here’s the action to do it:

Tony,

This is pretty useful in its own right, but not quite what I was after. Thanks!

However, if I want to have different text on the same background I would want to save two layers as .gif. I can use your action for this by duplicating layers and merging down, but that way I lose my editable text.

I’ve had a go at recording an action for myself. I’ve come up with a workable solution.

Thanks for your input, guys.

Well, just so you know, it’s not my action. I just happen to see it and bookmarked it. It’s found at:

<http://www.adobeevangelists.com>

I was hoping that it would at least lead you in the direction you were headed, and it appears that it may have done so.

Oh pretty please, share your method. I would be very interested.

Peace,
