Is there a way to "bundle" fonts with a photoshop project?

I use a prog called Extensis Suitcase 9.2 to manage my fonts in Photoshop.

At present when I open a completed project in Photoshop, various text layers are often shown in yellow – the ‘font not found’ status. I then have to go through the font collection in Suitcase and re-activate the missing ones before they can be used/changed.

This can be tedious. Is there a way to speed up this font-finding process by bundling the fonts used with its relevant project? Is there a better way?

Hope you get the drift.

Thanks – John

Suitcase should be able to copy the fonts in question to the same folder that you store your PS files in. Whether this is of any advantage I don’t know. PS does not bundle fonts.

I don’t think there’s an automatic way, but you could use the note tool to make a notation of the fonts you used.

Many thanks for your replys 🙂 . I’m just trying Font Reserve (mentioned elsewhere on this form) and find it much less cumbersome and more intuitive than Suitcase. Activated fonts remain activated, font search is great etc.

Have you tried ATM Light that comes with Windows XP? It is an Adobe program and Photoshop recognizes any fonts you’ve installed with it. With ATM Light, your fonts are in the ..\PSFONTS directory and, I think, Photoshop automatically checks this directory upon startup.

Maybe using an external application like flightcheck could help you?
