My new notebook is coming with Vista installed on it. I was told that installation of my Photoshop CS2 software would not be a problem…nor the software that came with my Canon 20D. Does anyone have experience with this? What problems should I expect with Vista in terms of my work with digital images?

Thanks
Barry

A few have reported activation problems with CS2 on Vista in that it keeps asking you to activate it. The work around apparently is to right click on the CS2 icon and change it so that it runs CS2 as an administrator. I don’t know if this works, but others have reported success with it.

Yes it works – just run PS in Administrator mode, select your option for registration (yes, no or whatever) and next time you run it ‘normally’ it will not ask you again (and again… and again…)

The only problem I’m having is getting Adobe Gamma to run at startup – Vista keeps blocking it and I have to manually select it to run it after Vista has started

Thanks !

I just received the new notebook yesterday and am a bit overwhelmed with the changes. I’m so used to my current system that it will take a bit of time to adjust.

Luckily, I chose to go through a local computer shop (even though it cost me about an extra $300 over the cheapest price on the Net)…BUT…the computer shop offers free software help (unlimited) for three years.
