Can my toolbars/palettes behave like InDesign?

I love the InDesign workspace. Is there any way to make the toolbars/palettes of PhotoShop CS slide in and out like they do in the InDesign workspace?

In ID I like the feature of when the program shuts down in the middle of working on a file, when it restarts it resumes where you left off with nothing lost. I wish PS could do that.
