Every time I load up Photoshop CS I get the File Browser window. The window is always blank. I can’t drag it or close it by clicking on the X. It just sits there.

If I click the menu Window/File Browser it goes away. When I click Window/File Browser it comes back and actually works.

I’d be REALLY happy if it just wouldn’t show up at all. Why doesn’t it remember that I don’t want it?

If the file browser is open when you close PS, it will open up the next time you open PS again.

Don’t know why you can’t close it by clicking the X.

It isn’t open when I close Photoshop. Stands to reason that if it isn’t open when I close it then it shouldn’t be open when I start it.

I saved one Workspace with the Browser window closed (it’s still running of course) and another with it on full screen with all palettes hidden. Much better than poking around in the middle of the screen (sadly I only have one at the moment). Easy to switch between the two. Also the Workspace settings are in a folder of their own and can easily be backed up and restored.
