One of the advantages of the new Shadow/Highlight command being touted in the current PEI magazine is the lack of banding/posterization when compared to using curves, demonstrated by comparing the histograms between each operation. When using curves, combing is seen in the histogram, but not when using S/H.
However, in my test image, I notice the combing generated by curves disappears when I accept the changes (or flatten if using a curves adjustment layer).
Does this negate this particular advantage for S/H?
