I could use a little help here if anybody is of a mind.

I am working out of the Browser window in CS.

I have a batch of about 42 photos in most cases that I have color corrected from RAW images (I shoot in raw only) and I have saved them into a PSD at 300 resolution at the largest size. Once all that is done I want to do the following:

1. Open each file
2. Impose Unsharp Mask with the same settings each time.
3. Resize the image to about 8 x 12 at 150 resolution
4. Save the image as a JPG
5. Close the image.

I have tried using the Action window and recording the steps but for some reason CS will always go back and open the first tile (the one I did the recording on) and save that instead of saving the current image.

It is as though it will not get the new file name. Have I done something wrong?

Any help would be appreciated as I hope to be doing this kind of processing more and more for my group clients.

You are usually best off NOT having an Open step, because that opens the file you recorded with, The Batch function will open your files automatically if you specify the folder.

So Override or delete that Open step.

That did the trich! Thank you muchly!!! This is going to make a LOT of the work I do much easier. I can now get all the shot specific work done and THEN automate the resizing and other common functions down to a batch operation that I can do on say my Laptop!! Thanks a lot for your help!
